  • Foster a pure interest and enjoyment of learning and knowledge.

Admissions

Nursery

Parents who wish their child to have a Nursery place should register at school.  The Nursery Panel meets termly and places are offered strictly in date of birth order according to the LA Criteria. This information can be found in the "Schools in Suffolk" booklet.

Full-time School

All pre-entry children are invited to meet their new classteacher during the term before entry.

Parents are also invited to meet the Headteacher and staff and learn about the organisation of the school. Children are invited for lunch towards the end of the term before entry.

Children are admitted full-time to the school at the beginning of the term in which they are five.  Therefore we have an intake of children three times a year according to their birthday.

The LA is responsible for admissions and full details of the LA’s admission policy and procedures are set out in the “Schools in Suffolk” booklet.

School Organisation

We welcome parents into school to help in a variety of ways, sharing books with children, playing games, helping with craft activities and special events.  Parents may visit the school at any time if they have an urgent problem.  If the matter is not so urgent a telephone call requesting an appointment would be appreciated.

Nursery Provision

The Nursery unit, which opened in 1996 uses a developmental approach to learning and provides high quality provision of structured play activities working within the Early Years Foundation Curriculum.

The Early Years begin when the children reach the age of three and continues to the end of the Reception Year.

Friends of the school

We have a very active and supportive Friends Group.  It organises activities and social events for the children, parents and families.  It also undertakes fundraising events to provide additional equipment and fun opportunities for the children.  All parents are most welcome to join in this valued part of our school life.
